Starting a New Bullet Journal

I've been using the Bullet Journal system off and on for about 4 years now, and just recently got back to using it again. I've done a lot of experimentation around it, including doing an entirely digital Bullet Journal on my iPad with GoodNotes.

When I first started using it, I almost immediately made modifications to the base system. I liked the idea of the Bullet Journal, but I was anxious to make it my own from the start. As many people do when starting off with the Bullet Journal, they do a Google search on the topic. What comes up is thousands of examples beautifully artistic spread and collections ideas. These are great, but they can be intimidating to those curious about the system. They think in order to use the Bullet Journal they have to be able to create elaborate spreads. This is just isn't the case. The base Bullet Journal setup is quite minimal.

I always said I was going to try out the base Bullet Journal system with no modifications, but
